Wikipedia is a wiki that relies on end-users to manage security. If an IP address like 1.2.3.4 tries to login to your account, the system should return “login failed”. The attacker will not notify you, but this does not mean that you don’t need to take precautions to protect yourself.

Sometimes, your firewall will block access to the internet, so you should disable it. Another possibility for the problem is conflicting IP addresses. If you have multiple devices connected to your router, one of them might have conflicting IP addresses. Restarting your router should resolve this problem.
